The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is scheduled to travel to Djibouti to meet Somaliland leader Muse Bihi Abdi.
Sources within Villa Somalia have confirmed to Halbeeg news that the talks facilitated by President Ismael Omar Gelle are expected to happen within next week.
The meeting will focus on resuming discussions between Mogadishu and Hargeisa which stalled in Turkey on 2015.
Senior stakeholders will be part of President Farmajo and President Bihi delegation.
Media sources in Somaliland reported that Foreign Minister Yasin Hagi Faratoon and the Chairman of Somaliland House of Elders Saleban Mohamud Adan will be part of the team.
On the other hand, unconfirmed reports indicate that Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali will join the leaders later in Djibouti.
Somaliland declared its succession from greater Somalia in the early 1990s a move that is yet to be recognized by the international community despite various progress made in peace, democracy, and development.
