The President of the Southwest Regional State, Abdulaziz Hassan Muhammad (Laftagreen) appoints Elias Saeed Ali for Minister of Information and Sulaiman Shuaib Ali, Minister for Minerals and Petroleum.
The decree clarified the dismissal of the former state minister of information, Ogas Hassan Abdi Mohamed, who had held this position in recent years. The former Minister of Petroleum and Minerals, Mohamed Abdel-Rahim Nur was also relieved of his post.
Laftagren was elected as the president of the southwest regional state in 2019 following deadly election campaign that left 12 people dead after the former leader of Al-Shabab, Muktar Robow kept off the ballot and arrested in the capital Mogadishu.
