Baidoa Radio WarsanThe Special Envoy of the President in charge of the Drought Emergency Abdirahman Abdishakur Warsame held a large meeting in London with international aid organizations based in the UK.
The meeting was also attended by officials from the British Government and the UK Emergency Committee.
The envoy and the representatives of the institutions, the officials of the British Government and the Emergency Committee agreed to speed up the response to the drought situation in Somalia, to prevent the drought from going to the worst level of famine.
The envoy who recently arrived in the UK has already met with the Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa in charge of the UK, the UK Special Envoy for Climate Change and the Head of Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before a meeting in New York with the Minister of International Development UK, Vicky Ford
These meetings are part of the delegation’s efforts to seek relief and donations for drought relief, in order to prevent a humanitarian disaster in the country. Finally, the delegate thanked Save The Children for hosting the meeting.
