Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has accused the United States and Israel of fueling the country’s more than two weeks of protests.
Khamenei described the anti-government protests as violence aimed at destroying Iran’s progress
“I am clearly stating that this violence and insecurity was the design of the United States and the colonialists, the false Zionist regime [Israel] and those who pay them, and some traitorous Iranians abroad. helped,” Khamenei said at a graduation ceremony at Tehran University
The protests began after a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, died last month at the hands of Iranian police.
